Research Questions

1.    Have the increasing innovations in technology impacted the advertising industry in a way that there is a foreseeable successful future?

Technology has greatly impacted the advertising industry. Social media has become a great marketing/advertising tool that millions of people use daily

Yes, there is less need for print advertising, and digital advertising is much easier social media has also allowed advertising to reach more people than ever

I think that increasing innovations in technology that there is a foreseeable successful future because more technology can come out to help marketing and advertising teams reach broader audiences 

2.    Has the increase in apps relating to the finance industry changed the way that banks run and their membership?

Yes, apps like Venmo have changed the finance industry. People are more likely to use Venmo instead of writing checks. Venmo is extremely convenient. In addition, Apple Pay had made it so cash is barely used. Apple Pay is a much more effective way to purchase items.

Yes, things like the Chase app and Venmo have allowed banks to facilitate a lot of their processes, like depositing checks can now be done by taking a picture of it and taking out money is not as necessary because people do it virtually on Venmo.

Yes, I think that it is easier to access your account and transfer money and pay bills.


3.    How has technology changed the employment in advertising agencies, and what does the future look like for this industry?

In terms of employment, individuals need to be tech savvy in order to an industry’s task. Employers are looking for a lot of experience and skills in technology

Technology has allowed many people who are advanced in just social media to get jobs in the industry to help veterans in advertising reach new audiences and find new ways to advertise, I think the future of advertising digitally is successful because more and more apps are being created and social media is more prevalent than ever.

I can't say what the future looks like for the industry because I do not know much about advertising, but I know that technology has helped and changed employment in all industries because it much easier to apply and find jobs 



After asking three different people to respond to my questions, I have realized that there are similarities among the responses. To begin, I wasn’t surprised to see that Venmo came up in the responses since my participants are college students. Venmo is frequently used by college students since it is very easy to split payments and send others money when needed. Millennials today are looking for convenience when going about their day to day tasks, so using apps such as Venmo and Apple Pay have made their lives easier. This is important because it can be the reason that they answered the way they did. Additionally, common responses were seen regarding employment with the advances in technology. I believe that my respondents felt this way because we have grown up with technology advancing before our eyes, and we see the difference that technology has made on industries and jobs within each industry. Furthermore, teenagers in today’s world see the impact social media has made on advertising, so it is no surprise that the people who answered my questions brought up social media in their answers. Something interesting that my participants claimed was that social media allows advertisers to reach a broader audience. Being an advertising major, it was interesting to me to see this response from non-advertising majors because they aren’t aware of the technicalities and background that goes into advertising on social media. Yes, it is clear that more people are reached through social media, but the advertising is still targeted toward a certain group of people even if it is done online. I think that since I asked open-ended questions, I didn't limit my respondents to only specific answers, rather I allowed them to answer freely what their beliefs are on the subject.
